Peter’s corner

March 3, 2008

Peter’s corner. Just for fun, I’ll try and describe some haphazard ideas about "Peter’s corner". In the book, "The Zelator", Mark Hedsel mentions it. It’s a corner of a building. What does a corner look like? Well, it’s where three lines meet at right angles to a point. Somewhere and somehow, I was thinking about logic and negations. So you could say something was either true or false, binary logic, but you could say there was something in between…somehow or another I was think about the triple negation. In the Bible Peter (if I am not mistaken) is described as Jesus’s most loved disicple. Peter denounced Jesus three times each one is a negation of knowing him. After that, he knows who Jesus is. The triple death and rebirth.  If you are in the right state of mind you could almost see the 3 dimensional aspect visually, kind of like planes converging. The idea of being pinned/trapped in a corner comes to mind. Peter in the Last Supper painted by Leonardo, who appears to hold a knife in his hand in a twisted position, like being "cornered". The cross when planted in the ground looks like a "t" with three points at their extremity. Being "crucified", each extremity is convering to one in the middle.  Each dimension is negated, leading to "death" and then "rebirth". Well, just some speculative, "random" thoughts for the moment.
