Addative E621
E621 is the addative name for Mono Sodium Glutimate. It is marketed as a "flavour enhancer". I was trying to avoid it since I read something evil about it not too long ago. I like potato chips, so it was too bad for me when I checked the back of the packages and found out that the ones with flavorings in them also had E621.(no more sour cream and onion, sniff sniff) The only ones I’ve found so far that don’t have E621 are regular salted potato chips packages.
"Because MSG is absorbed very quickly in the gastrointestinal tract (unlike glutamic acid-containing proteins in foods), MSG could spike blood plasma levels of glutamate.Glutamic acid is in a class of chemicals known as excitotoxins, high levels of which have been shown in animal studies to cause damage to areas of the brain unprotected by the blood-brain barrier and that a variety of chronic diseases can arise out of this neurotoxicity. The debate among scientists on the significance of these findings has been raging since the early 1970s, when Dr. John Olney found that high levels of glutamic acid caused damage to the brains of infant mice.[…]"(wikipedia.org)…So,basically its a poison.(further research needed)
