A Sparrow in our summer house

November 8, 2007

A sparrow fell through the vent in the bathroom last night. It must have somehow gotten into the attic and maybe was sitting near the vent to stay warm. The vent is just a plastic pannel. As I turned on the light and stepped into bathroom the sparrow fell through into the bathroom. It kept on tring to fly away bumping its head on the cealing.

I got it out of the bathroom and into the corrador to open the small back entrance thinking it could get out that way. But it couldn’t find its way out or it didn’t want to. I closed the door leaving only the small back entrance open and turn of the lights and left the corrador to see if it would find its way out by itself. That didn’t work because its sayed inside. It was staying in front of the open door at one point as I walked in. So I guess it didn’t want to go out just yet.

I closed the back entrance door and left the bird in the corrador for the night and in the morning I opened the door again and moved some things out of its way where it was in a corner between the furnance and the walls. It fly past me and out through the back door and outside. We have sparrows living in our eves at night. In the summer they were very noisy.
