A Day on Earth

May 29, 2007

A fictional story

In a day on Earth, millions of kilos of meat, plants, and fruit are consummed. 1000 acres of forest are deforested. Every second, a child is born. Every second, a child dies. Every hour, a person commits suicided out of dispair. Half the children born will be born into povery. Every second on average somebody dies from disease. 3 plant or animal species will go extinct every day. Since the beginning of the war in Iraq, 900 iraqies die and 2 GIs die every day. Every hour, 2 million dollar are made in the arms industry. Every 10 minutes on average, somebody is tortured by intelligence services at known or unknown installations around the world. millions of cubic meters of air pollution are released into the atmosphere. Every day, millions of people in American can’t afford health care, buy enough to eat, afford cloths or house themselves while billions are spend to destroy other countries and people covertly or overty. On average, every day, a documented sighting of a UFO. On average, every day, three meteories hit the ground. For every dollar you give to the government, a dollar of black budget is given to secret programs.

Dr. Death

How much death is enough for Bush?

Appearantly a timetable for withdrawal is not good enough for Bush, he wants more people dead. This article says that there is no timetable for withdrawal of Amercian forces. He even predicts that there will be heavy casualties in the coming months.

"We are going to expect heavy fighting in the next weeks and months and we can expect American and Iraqi casualties" - US President G.W. Bush

On the Turning Away

The song from Pink Floyd set to images of the horrors of present time and 20th century history, these images present potent images of injustice done to humanity. (Warning: Extremely graphic images)

Will Ferrel as Bush

This is a YouTube video with Will Ferrel as George W. Bush in a campaign ad. I thought it was funny.

Will W. Bush

This is a YouTube video with Will Ferrel as George W. Bush giving a presidential address to the Nation. The war on Terrorism and the Axis of Evil are mentioned. He does a funny job of using the "Axis of Evil" phase, applying it to other things then countries.

It is also sad and serious to think that we have gone to war because of this supposed Axis of Evil (Iraq, Iran, and North Korea) that was not a threat at all to the livelihood of other nations.

JFK’s speach on secret societies and freedom of the press

JFK’s speach on secret societies and freedom of the press

"…For we are oppossed, around the world, by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy…"-JFK

This not the full speach. It has an interesting slide show of pictures. While I don’t know much about secret societies, I thought the ones with current politians and images of war worked well.

JFK’s secret societies PT1

"…our way of life is under attack…the danger has never been more clear…"-JFK

This is not the full speach. It gets cut off towards then end. Other people have also made a reference to "a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy" - statemen and intelligence people - that has an iron grip on anything important that happens tha can affect change in a larger context.

It was Johnson (?)

Who was it that killed Kennedy? I don’t know but I thought that his was an interesting video from serveral points of view, and that it expossed the idea that it wasn’t "a lone gunman". (Warning:It has beautiful meloncolic music, has a few graphic images, and in the background can be heard how the highest ideals are crushed underfoot.)

JFK’s body guards are being told to stay away

In this clip, the orator points out how the body guards of JFK’s vehicle are told to stay away from their positions on the rear of the car shortly before he is kill.

Al Gore and the Monolithic and Ruthless conspiracy

In this article, the author talks about many things, stringing various subjects from Al Gore new book to psychopathology passing through JFK’s haunting remark about a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy shortly before he died.

The Reaper and the Flowers

May 9, 2007

This is a sad poem that was written recently after the wife and children of the poet died in an accident according the the linked wedbsite brackets(written by the poet after the tragic loss of his wife and children in a fire).

The Reaper and the Flowers by H.W. Longfellow

There is a Reaper, whose name is Death,

And, with his sickle keen,

He reaps the bearded grain at a breath,

And the flowers that grow between.

"Shall I have naught that is fair?" saith he;

"Have naught but the bearded grain?

Though the breath of these flowers is sweet to me,

I will give them all back again."

He gazed at the flowers with tearful eyes,

He kissed their drooping leaves;

It was for the Lord of Paradise

He bound them in his sheaves.

"My Lord had need of these flowerets gay,"

The Reaper said, and smiled;

"Dear tokens of the earth are they,

Where he was once a child.

"They shall all bloom in fields of light,

Transplanted by my care,

And saints, upon their garments white,

These scared blossoms wear."

And the mother gave, in tears and pain,

The flowers she most did love;

She knew she should find them all again

In the fields of light above.

O, not in cruelty, not in wrath,

The Reaper came that day;

‘T was an angel visited the green earth,

And took the flowers away.

In My Craft or Sullen Art by Dylan Thomas

In my craft or sullen art

Exercised in the still night

When only the moon rages

And the lovers lie abed

With all their griefs in their arms,

I labour by singing light

Not for ambition or bread

Or the strut and trade of charms

On the ivory stages

But for the common wages

Of their most secret heart.

Not for the proud man apart

From the raging moon I write

On these spindrift pages

Nor for the towering dead

With their nightingales and psalms

But for the lovers, their arms

Round the griefs of the ages,

Who pay no praise or wages

Nor heed my craft or art.
